WELCOME TO THE NEW COMPETENCY BASED ASSESSMENT SYSTEM
This information will assist you to be able to understand about the CBA and what is involved. The new CBA system is to be undertaken by every Professional Engineer who is to be registered by The Professioanl Engineers Regsitration Board of PNG (PERB) and a MEMBER or a FELLOW of the Institution of Engineers PNG Inc (IEPNG).
Currently the PERB has only one professional register for Professional Engineers. Shortly, another two registers of Engineering Technologist and Engineering Technician will be also setup.
The engineering professionals who are Graduate Members, Technicians and Companions with IEPNG will NOT be undertaking the CBA assessment now. The current system of assessment will NOT be applicable to this class of membership until the NEW registers are setup by The PERB.
For the Professional Engineers (Member and Fellow categories/class) who will be required to undertake CBA, there will be six (6) forms to be filled in. Each from has with it a Instruction document to asist you understand what is required to documented in each of the forms.
